Re: KBJR embarrasses itself again
In Fargo, there's an LMA agreement with CBS affiliate KXJB and NBC affiliate KVLY. All their newscasts are simulcasts between the two with separate spots. If one is running sports and news is delayed, they just run a recorded newscast seen live on the other station hours ago.

Re: KBJR embarrasses itself again
The NewsCenter's 9:00 newscast is simulcast on CW2 and My9, but it's never gotten more than 0.1 in the ratings. It used to be repeated at 10:00 on CBS3, but now they're taping a separate show for CBS3. They're putting very little effort into the 9:00 newscast and it shows. I wonder if they have NBC's approval to put NBC News content on a CBS subchannel, and vice versa?

Why are you watching that CW newscast at 9? Fox 21 has a much better local newscast on at the same time.

What a newscast tonight, on Northlands NewsCenter tonite: The CW2 news anchored by CBS3 guy needed some fill before 9:30 so he pulled an NBC News feature to run. Oh, this was all shown on NNC's "MY" station 6.2 - also simulcasted on 3.2! Gawd, I can't wait till 10pm for Channel 10!. Zzzzz.

Re: KBJR embarrasses itself again
KBJR's report came *months* after the rent payments were missed, and at least a month after that fact had been reported in the other media. They thought they'd make a good "sweeps" story out of it by calling it a company "in crisis," but their report had absolutely no new information.
The layoffs weren't announced until the day *after* KBJR's coverage, which did not include any mention of coming layoffs.
Nater, if you were in Duluth and watched KBJR's news on a regular basis you'd know what we're talking about. It's the laughingstock of every other news organization in town. There are some good people there, they just need new leadership.

Re: KBJR embarrasses itself again
So, Cirrus is behind in their rent, and today fired another ten percent of it's staff, bringing it to well below fifty percent of the number of employees they had a year ago.
Why, again, was it wrong for KBJR to suggest they were in trouble?

I can't agree with you more. Their product is absolutely horrible and is a direct reflection of not only Granite, but management at that station. Barbara Reyelts runs the newsroom, but Dave Jensch is just as responsible for the crap that appears on those newscasts. It's sick and will NOT get better any time soon. It's sensationalism bullshit. I could write a book about this, but I will stop right now.

KBJR embarrasses itself again
Last week, they had to pull a story about murderer Donald Blom after a Facebook protest. Then they claimed the promo they had aired about the story was wrong.
Tonight (Tuesday), they had to do a live four-minute interview with a Cirrus executive off the top of their 10:00 news to make up for a story they ran at 5 in which they claimed the company was "in crisis." Their 5:00 report was based on the fact that Cirrus hasn't paid rent for using a city-owned facility, but that had been widely reported by other media a month or more ago.
This is on top of the the constant day-behind news and bad video. When will Granite (or NBC or CBS) realize what's going on in Duluth?
