Re: General Manager – Dakota Broadcasting – Aberdeen
Been to Aberdeen once, by accident. I thought it was ruled by Armada? Who knows what about these stations/this company?
What is Aberdeen's "claim to fame"?

Re: General Manager – Dakota Broadcasting – Aberdeen
Dakota Broadcasting's Managing Partner is Neil Lipetzky. I had the pleasure of building the two new stations in Aberdeen (105.5 and 107.7) with he and his wife,Terri in 2007. I serve as the company's Operations Manager and I'm very proud of the changes we've made in the market. You can learn about the stations at: http://www.dakotabroadcasting.com. Neil recently acquired nine stations in NW Iowa and will be moving south to be able to more efficiently share his time between the markets. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person! It's true that you have to *want* to get to Aberdeen, S.D. but at least you can do it at 70mph now! Once you do..there's a lot here: Wylie Park/Storybook Land. The Brown County Fair. N.S.U. Men's BB Coach Don Meyer has the most NCAA wins in history. Older readers may remember that the Fischer Quintuplets were born here in 1963. (First surviving set in America, and naturally occurring.) And yes..a famous little bar on South main..where anyone over 25 is completely invisible!

This would be a good job. Neil and Terri know what they're doing and have so far acquired a very valuable group of stations, not only in South Dakota but also Northwest Iowa.

Re: General Manager – Dakota Broadcasting – Aberdeen
Don't knock Aberdeen until you've been there. Seriously, it's a great place. Since it's the hub of NE South Dakota, there's much more there than it's population number would suggest. Lots of stores, restaurants, bars, etc. Clean, safe, and a great place to raise a family.
The only negative I can see is if/when the beef plant opens and illegal aliens begin showing up. The extent of this problem remains to be seen, of course.

Have they filled the GM position? I thought that they had an energetic, community involved seller that could do the job. Is he gone or not even being considered?

Are you going to name names or keep us in suspense?
I thought they just posted the position? Filled already?

Re: General Manager – Dakota Broadcasting – Aberdeen
I'm not involved in the process, so I can't speak to either of these.

Curious Mind Wants to Know wrote: What is Aberdeen's "claim to fame"? The one thing I noticed when I passed through a year ago is the number of billboards. I believe that's the highest concentration of those things on the planet. I would guess with a business environment so focused on getting the message out, advertisers must be beating the door down to get on radio.

Somebody has to know something?
Or knows somebody who knows something?
