The old Mancow show will never come back. He is paying now for years of acting invincible when he was on top. He has nowhere to go! No company will pay for his show like Evergreen or Emmis did in the 90's and next to no one will pick up his show in syndication. TRN has had to barter crazy deals and basically give the show away. Mancow's friendship with Rusty Humphries is basically the only thing keeping him syndicated at this point. Also most of those people will not work for free. I believe only Al Roker Jr. and one other person is currently a paid employee of Mancow. Everyone else who works on the show from Chicago is an intern. The remote guys are paid TRN employees or interns.

I don't like that Edition of The TRUTH

Mancow when he started in Chicago, had the right formula. While most non-ethnic radio shows were targeting the North Side, Mancow built a loyal following of blue collar South side and suburban listeners. He also took a page out of the H. Stern handbook (actually it goes back to the Hitler handbook), he "created" an enemy. Mancow's enemy was either "the man", "corporate America" and even Howard Stern himself.

He also had a rock station pulpit for his shannanigans. A very gullible young audience. Trouble was, as he attempted to reinvent himself, he started to
show Chicago that he is actually an "act". One thing Chicago hates are people who aren't genuine. That is why Ed Tyll or Morton Downey Jr never lasted here.

The industry also doesn't pay big money for radio air talent anymore. That's why Kevin Matthews took a sweet deal in Grand Rapids because no one in Chicago would fork out $400k a year and not get a return on investment. It is the same reason Brandmeir, Dahl and Ed Volkman were let go. After their respective stations canned them, they saw no significant loss in revenue. DreX on the other hand brings money into CC. Believe me if he didn't Clear Channel would can his ass so fast.
